The Baby Making Mad Man: The Orion Nebula

Alright kiddies, buckle up! Put your thinking caps on, it's time to do you some learning. Now the first part of space we are taking a stab at is, drum roll please, THE ORION NEBULA! I assume anyone who is reading this is either my Professor( Hey Teach!) or so far down the rabbit hole that is the internet that they have found Narnia and somehow stumbled upon my blog, regardless I am gonna explain this all to you. First things first, we gotta answer what's probably the main question, what in the heck is a Nebula?
A picture of the Orion Nebula taken with a Sony Alpha a6300 Camera

Now since not everyone is a Marvel fangirl like me or a master astronomer (Hats off to you Teach) the average person has probably not ever learned what the heck a Nebula is. So sit down and chill, let ROBEA try to teach you. To make things super simple a Nebula is like a pair of rabbits, wait wait don’t run off now just hold up let me explain! It’s a well known fact that rabbits, they well ahem have a LOT of baby bunnies and a Nebula is similar because it gives birth to a lot of Stars. So Bunny mating = Nebula, got that? Ok, good. Next question what IS it?? So to explain that I have to explain something else, Supernovae (Not supernovas, whomever told you that is an idiot, or a big fat liar, maybe even both) Alright its about to get a little crazy in here so stay with me, a Supernova is a big Star.

This is an image of an exploding Supernova taken by the Hubble Telescope

Yeah I’m not kidding, a Supernova is just a huge freaking Star. To be more specific for all you nicpicts out there (you know who you are) a Supernova is a dying star. Now the crazy thing about our pals the Supernovae is that they don’t handle pressure well, our boy’s got a temper on him one might say an explosive temper. Yes our friend the Supernovae are super old cranky stars that blow up when they die (Pretty metal am I right?). When one of these cranky old men explode they create dust. And calling what they create dust is not unscientific, thats legit what scientists refer to it as. So to recap a Nebula is a giant baby making machine that was created from the dust of an explosion of an old cranky star. And there you go, that's what the Orion Nebula is. Another crazy thing to think about is that its over 1,300 light years away. Thats a number that you can’t even fathom, heck I’m feeling dizzy just thinking about it. This Nebula is honestly pretty close to us, if you went out at night with a telescope(granted that you even own one) and looked out into the sky you would be able to easily see it. But this big ole baby making machine is special because it can be seen in parts of the world with the naked eye.

Couldn't find a picture that shows the Orion Nebula from earth so here's another cool picture of it taken by Rawastrodata on Nov. 17 2012

Alright alright I’ll end it here, seems like some of you were falling asleep (Don’t think I didn't see you) Thank you for reading! Robea out!
